Services – Community-Based Residential Care
Community-Based Residential Care is available for youth with emotional and behavioral management issues. This program is often the first service used by a child in crisis. The Mt. Vernon/Knox County Network is a model program offering emergency admission, crisis intervention and residential care for both boys and girls. Designed to provide very short-term assessment and triage services, as well as longer-term residential care, it fills the gap in the continuum of services needed for troubled youth.
Children's Resource Center Trauma Informed Care Residential Program
The Village Network’s Community-Based Residential Program includes individual, group and family therapy, expressive arts, art and recreational therapy, psychiatric treatment, nursing care, and education through either an on-site school or tutoring. The Mt. Vernon/Knox County Network location is a co-educational, residential facility that accommodates approximately 20 youth. Independent living units for older adolescents are available.
For youth not placed residentially and placement out of the home is necessary, the Mt. Vernon/Knox County Network utilizes Treatment Foster Care. The Village Network’s Treatment Foster Care programs are developed as local programs addressing the unique needs of the communities they serve. Our Treatment Foster Care networks serve a wide variety of troubled youth, both boys and girls of all ages. Individual counseling and family therapy for the youth’s primary family are included in all treatment plans. The Village Network also has the capacity to utilize many Village and community resources to develop extensive “wrap-around” plans, including Day Treatment for youth with significant special needs. Masters-level therapists, case managers, psychologists and psychiatrists are part of each youth’s individualized treatment plans to ensure high-quality care.
