Service and Social Clubs Partner with The Village Network
If you are interested in how your service or social organization can partner with The Village Network contact Lacie Blanchard at lblanchard@thevillagenetwork.com or 330.202.3857 and arrange for a presentation about our mission and the work we do.
Knights of Columbus
The Ohio State Council Knights of Columbus Charity Foundation donated $1,000 to purchase suitcases and duffle bags for youth leaving The Village Network program. Troubled and traumatized youth move between facilities and foster homes carrying their belongings in plastic bags or cardboard boxes according to Ray Khoramshahi, Foundation & Government Grants Manager. The sense of self-worth increases tremendously with owning a simple suitcase.
Wooster Exchange Club
Each month Wooster Exchange Club hosts a Youth of the Month at the noon luncheon meeting. The young man receives a plaque, special T-shirt and a gift card. He has the opportunity to speak to the group and may agree to answer questions. TVN clinicians choose which youth qualify based on their participation in treatment and good behavioral practices. It is a major incentive to be picked to represent the Boys' Village Campus.
Mid-Ohio Corvette Club
For 10 years Corvettes owners have converged on TVN-Boys' Village Campus, Wooster. The Mid-Ohio Corvette Club sponsors the event. In 2008 more than 150 Corvettes decorated the campus and their owners donated over $6,000 to The Village Network. Those clubs making the annual trek include members of the Buckeye Corvette Club, Canton and Classic Glass Corvette Club out of New Philadelphia.
Tri-County Bass Masters
Members of the Tri-County Bass Masters share their love of the sport with the youth at TVN-Boys' Village Campus every year. This will be the 20th year the group has volunteered their time to teach our boys fishing skills. The afternoon event includes educational clinics, a great lunch and plenty of good old fishing. Tri-County Bass Masters have been an integral part of the fishing program since its inception. The group stocked the pond many years ago and continues to provide a free rod and reel plus assorted fishing equipment to each participant.
