Community Foundation of Mt. Vernon & Knox County Purchases AED Unit for TVN Residential Program
The Village Network (TVN) recently received $1,335 from The Community Foundation of Mt. Vernon & Knox County to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for TVN-Mt. Vernon/Knox County Children's Resource Center location. The purchase of the AED completes the goal of equipping all TVN residential facilities with this life saving device.
"We are keenly aware of and appreciative of The Village Network's efforts to educate communities about its unique mission with youth who are confronting acute personal and family crises," said Sam Barone, executive director, The Community Foundation of Mt. Vernon & Knox County. "The organization's commitment to doing so is one of the reasons it has been successful throughout the state of Ohio."
The recent grant emphasizes the Foundation's message of improving the lives area youth, according to Barone. The Foundation has generated more than $12 million since its inception and has returned most of it back to Knox County communities.
The Village Network has cared for troubled and traumatized youth for over 60 years. TVN operates residential, day treatment, treatment foster care and alternative schools programs in 10 locations including Mt. Vernon/Knox County, Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Delaware, Newark, Uhrichsville, Sandusky and Wooster.
