Alumni Agree to Formalize the Association
WOOSTER, Ohio - August 10, 2008 - The Village Network (TVN), Boys' Village Campus, Wooster, Ohio, played host to over 150 alumni, staff and current residents at the recent Alumni Picnic. Bob Maruna, chair of the Alumni Committee, was pleased with the enthusiasm and the commitment of the past residents to formalize the group.
The family outing featured presentations by former Boys' Village residents, a campus tour, a magic show by local magician Bobby Warren, a picnic lunch and a formal alumni meeting. While this was not the first time Boys' Village Campus alumni have met, it was the first time a move to establish a formal association was presented.
Several alumni volunteered to take an active part in creating an official Alumni Association according to Maruna and a decision to meet every two years was established.
"Our alumni are a powerful, influential source of inspiration to the youth currently living inside our residential campuses," said Maruna. "They come from various walks of life and their successes are proof that positive change and responsible living work."
Alumni that could not attend the August event are encouraged to contact TVN at 330-202-3861 today for more information on the newly formed association and how to help.
